Simon is Chair and Professor of Marketing in the Faculty of Business & Economics, and Interim Director of the Centre for Workplace Leadership (CWL) at the University of Melbourne. He is also a Fellow of the Judge Business School at Cambridge University where he was previously a Faculty member.
He has held visiting positions at Copenhagen Business School, Imperial College Business School, and Católica University in Lisbon. He holds an Honours degree in Economics and completed his PhD in Marketing at the University of Melbourne.
Simon writes on a range of issues including frontline service employee performance, service quality, customer satisfaction and loyalty, regional clusters and innovation, as well as social networks within and between organisations.
His research has focused on the retail and professional services industries and has been published in leading international journals such as the Journal of Marketing, Academy of Management Review, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Service Research, among others. Simon also sits on a number of editorial boards including the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
